Queens Man Fatally
Shoots Wife
By Matie Singh

On April 15, at about 8:30pm, Debbie Tulshi, 21, was found shot dead at the bottom of a flight of stairs in her South Ozone Park, New York City.
"Tulshi was shot by her live-in boyfriend during a domestic dispute Sunday evening," police said.
"There had to have been a dispute between them," said Tulshi's aunt, Sandy Tulshi.
"It's a mystery," said Tulshi's uncle, Ganesh Tulshi. "No one could see anything coming. There were no signs of problems or violence. Something just triggered this."
According to police. Singh shot Tulshi during a jealous rage because he believed she was involved with another man. "They have no history of domestic violence," police added.
Sandy said, members of the family were gathered Sunday night at Debbie Tulshi's parents' house on 122nd Street, around the corner from the apartment on 123rd Street where "Deb lived" with Singh. "
"At about 8:30pm Deb and Ravin went back to the apartment to get some things for the children. Raven [later] came and told us that somebody shot Deb," Sandy continued. "We rushed over there and found her on the stairs. Then the police arrived and they took over."
According to Detective Valerie St. Rose, a police spokeswoman, "Tulshi was shot numerous times in the head and also in the arm and thigh. A .22-caliber handgun was recovered at the scene." St. Rose said, Singh was arrested a few blocks from the slay scene. "He was charged with murder."
The family later learned Singh, 24, called the police to confess to the shooting soon after. "He is charged with two counts of murders and criminal possession of a weapon," said Sandy Tulshi.
Married according to Hindu rites in 1994, but never getting the required marriage license, the couple had two children, "5-year-old Ashley and 2-year-old Angel" who were at "Debbie's parents' house when the shooting took place," Sandy continued. "Nobody expects something like that. They're [the children] always asking for mom. The parents are very distraught. Deb was their only daughter."
Ganesh Tulshi said, Singh worked as a machinist and Tulshi took care of the children at home. "She was close with her family, she was very happy." Ganesh continued.
"Deb was very outgoing, always smiling, a dedicated mother, and she loved children," Sandy said.
At the time of going to press, Singh was awaiting arraignment on two counts of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, said Mary de Bourbon, a spokeswoman for District Attorney Richard Brown.
