Uloopi's Angst
She has since unraveled
her long wavy tresses
and placed the jewels to rest
The ocean waves
play a melancholic song as
Her eyes like lotus petals
appear misty
The slender waisted lady
stammers along lush gardens
where they both strolled together,
centuries ago
It was pre-ordained perhaps
and her remaining days
are spent in Arjuna's memories
Her immaculate beauty now useless
she never grows old -
a boon of the snake people
She belongs in the water
"O Arya! Our son has become
A gallant prince -
possessing intricate knowledge of archery
like masters of war
your kshatriya blood gushing in his veins:
I turn him to you
And renounce the world hereafter" says Uloopi
He lives on the earth,
The leader of the Kurukshetra war
She resides in the water,
Loving him forever
Notes: Kurukshetra war - as depicted
in Mahabharata
Kshatriya - Warrior class
Money Matters
Met you finally
Obsessed with success and money
Gambling your life away
Your limbs weak from sexual exhaustion
Breadth musty of one too many Parliament Lights
Eyes drunk from earthly ambrosia
Smearing my love with jealousy
Crowding the heart with suspicion
You have almost lost hope
You're an enigma
walking upon flaky stars
balancing the aroma of meloncholia and ecstacy simultaneously
you dissipate the darkness with your smoky, illusioned presence
I lift you above
darkness biding you goodbye
Watch you swim ashore
To a luminous horizon
You fly above now
You fly
You flew away
Leaving me and my Devi
